The Palace of the Viscounts of Cabrera and the Church of Santa Maria are located in the centre of the city of Blanes, 5 minutes by car and 20 minutes on foot from Cavall de Mar. We recommend the option on foot because finding parking in the old town is not easy.

The palace of the Viscounts of Cabrera was united to the parish Church (Iglesia Santa María), but the complex was divided in 1319 when the parish of Blanes was established. This building belonged to the Blanes family and was acquired in 1378 by the Cabrera family, hence its name. In 1623 it was acquired by the merchant Esteve Alemán. The building was a barracks for the troops that toured the region and was partially destroyed in the wars against France. It was later rebuilt and its current appearance includes the bell tower and the 15th century façade. The work was done in various stages and the façade and bell tower are preserved from the original Gothic style.
